Have you ever thought about the power of words? I know when I was a young child that one of the rhymes one heard was the following, " Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." That is a lie from the pit of hell! I know that words do have an effect. Look at the number of people you may know who have been cut off from their destiny because of what someone said about them that undermined their belief about themselves. I know of a a young lady who don't get the verbal support that she should have gotten from her father and that has caused her to look and find that acceptance from others who can't replace what his word means to her. I believe that we as believers in Jesus need to watch what we say. If one remembers the Bible states that we are created in the reflection of our Father God. He spoke and the worlds were created. Now you and I don't have that power to do just that, but we do have the power to speak and create not only our own world but those we have surrounded ourselves as well.
The Bible states the following in Matthew 12:36-37, " But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned." Church we must watch what we are saying. Are you speaking words of judgment and commendation before you are sure that they are justified? Love is what God is about. Are words need to be framed in that. Are you saying course jokes? Have I been without fault in this area? No, I am just as guilty as anyone of falling short in this area. But the Lord has been speaking to me about this and I wanted to share with you what I have read and heard. It is time for us to grow up in Christ and to be more like Him.
Ephesians 4:29 says the following," Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which
is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the
hearers." Are you and I practicing this with those we work with, those we fellowship with and those we encounter with on a daily basis? I encourage you to seek God on this and to repent and turn your conversation toward what God intends that you may grace to those that you encounter. It is through these moments that you and I will have an impact on our world that others will recognize. When one thinks of a man who has practiced this principle that is still with us today I must point to the Reverend Billy Graham. I can't think of an incident where he has been accused of misrepresenting the gospel of Christ by what he said or shouldn't have. Let us follow that example and speak life. For the Bible says in Proverbs 18:21, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof."
Let us speak Life that the gospel of Christ will manifest in a generation that is in need of His presence as never before.

Prayer : Where has the Power Fell?
I have been a follower of Jesus Christ for the past 20 + years and in my time serving Him I have been one who has craved spending time in prayer for the saints of God and those in need of His healing touch and or deliverance. I remember a time when people in the Church would gather together and pray and call down the power of the Lord onto a situation. I have seen God move so mightily in those meetings but as the years have passed on it appears that fewer and fewer churches and those who are leading it do not have a desire to have a corporate prayer time.
This reminds me of the story of the young prophet who was helping to build a bigger place for his fellow young prophets under the ministry of Elijah. As the young prophet chopped at a tree the ax head on the ax that he borrowed came off and fell into the water behind him. The young prophet was distraught but when Elijah heard about he asked the young prophet to show him where it fell off at. Than God provided a miracle that allowed the ax head to float to the surface and the young prophet than grabbed the ax head and placed it back on the ax and began to work once again on the tree he was chopping down.
The moral of the story is this. The power of God that the Church needs in this hour has slipped off our ax handle. We need to recover the ax head otherwise we are making no progress in the Kingdom of God without it. We need the prophetic voice that God is using in this hour to show us where to find it and once it has been uncovered it is time for us to pick up where we last left it and begin to use the tool of prayer to bring us to the place where the power we need to harvest souls for God's Kingdom is made available. God is wanting to do great things in the Church in this hour. Are we willing to seek Him out and find where are ax head is?

There is Power in the NAME of JESUS
I have been mediating upon this lately and I believe that the Lord is speaking to us that there is more to the name of Jesus than what we have been able to understand to this point. Just recently my pastor began a sermon series about the names of Jesus and how they describe Him. I do not believe that this is a coincidence but a part of what God is trying to speak into the Church in this hour.
The world as we know it is looking for an answer. The Church proclaims that it has the answer, but do we really believe it? Do we really believe that there is power and authority in the name of Jesus? When one studies out the life of the early church it appears that they used the name of Jesus everywhere they went and the world was turned upside down as a result. Jesus gave us His name. Remember this is a name that is above every name. But what does that really mean?
If the name of Jesus is above every name than it means that cancer, heart disease, fear, depression, etc. must bow its knee to His name. After all the aforementioned things that the world system and the devil try to place upon people are nothing more than names. And if the one we serve is greater than all of this or whatever one is faced with, than should we not be using the Name of Jesus, in faith, more often?
Church, I challenge you to use the name of Jesus where ever you go. I have used that name many a times in my workplace and in other venues and have seen that Name affect change in people's lives. After all Church we are the carriers of the Name. Let us exercise that authority and power with love to those in need by using the name above every name, JESUS!
